
PA Wehn brings a strong foundation in evidence-based pain management and a diverse clinical background to Pacific Pain Medicine. With experience across family medicine, emergency medicine, and general surgery, he is uniquely equipped to approach pain management from a comprehensive and multidisciplinary perspective.
Joshua Wehn was born and raised in San Diego, California and has always been a lifelong athlete and passionate surfer. These early hobbies grew into interests within movement, recovery, and performance. Which now has naturally evolved into a career focused on helping patients overcome pain and regain function.
Pursuing this dedication of health and wellness PA Wehn earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. Where he was an NCAA Division I lacrosse athlete and contributed to published research in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.
Prior to earning his degree in Physician Assistant Studies, PA Wehn served as lead medical technician for the San Diego Firefighter Wellness Program. Where he worked closely with first responders experiencing musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain—an experience that solidified his commitment to pain medicine.
He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at A.T. Still University, receiving the Physician Assistant Professionalism Award and was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants in honor of clinical excellence and leadership.
PA Wehn's training has focused on the diagnosis and interventional management of chronic pain, with special attention to spine-related disorders, neuropathic pain, and musculoskeletal injuries. He takes a patient-centered, holistic approach, emphasizing movement, functional recovery, and long-term wellness. His goal is to help patients improve their quality of life through personalized and integrative pain management strategies.
